January 28, 2010: Meeting at Ruth Rodriguez's House to Discuss Design Options
A meeting will be held at Ruth Rodriguez's house at 315 Thorman to discuss design alternatives. Start time is 7:30, Thursday, January 28, 2009. Please RSVP in comment section. Thanks.
My two-cents-worth as a parent: these pocket parks in their current state are not kid-friendly by any means. Because they are overrun with feces left over from irresponsible pet-owners and from stray dogs, they are not safe and I cannot allow my children to run freely across any of these pocket parks. Any improvement to the current state of these parks is welcome, in my opinion.
Keep in mind this is NOT a meeting to design the garden. This is a meeting solely to finalize the flier and questionnaire that goes out to make sure we are including stakeholders. If you are looking to participate in the final design of the park that meeting is the charrette on the 20th.
Ruth has a point. The "design" component of the meeting at her house is limited to giving an idea of what various coverages would look like if the perimeter of the proposed garden was restricted to x amount. These designs will be placed on the back of the survey form to help people visualize better what is entailed.

ReplyDeleteDave, great job setting up this blog site! Thank you. This is a good tool for creating consensus and documenting this process.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to a constructive dialogue.

That's my two cents as a resident.
